Encouragement, Reflection

Think about what you are thinking about.

The title above is very profound to me when I had came across it during I reading a book to keep me encouraged.

I realized I’ve never took time to think about what I’m thinking about. I think of many other things but never of what I think about. While reading a book by Joyce Meyer called “Battlefield of the mind”, I came across a paragraph that is worth sharing to help you and someone you may know who needs to read it. By the way it’s a very good book.

“Thinking about what you’re thinking about is very valuable because satan usually deceives people into thinking that the source of their misery or trouble is something other than what it really is. He wants them to think they are unhappy due to what is going on around them (their circumstances), but the misery is actually due to what is going on inside them (their thoughts).” Joyce Meyer

Very powerful right? It was right on point. Well at least for me. I think about everything else in regards to how can this and that be handled or accomplished. I may spend my time thinking about why things are happening the way they are or why people want to be so petty towards me like what did I do. I never took the time to actually meditate on the Word, sermon or any valuable information. It was more of okay I heed the message right then and there, but not apply it to my life like I should. And it’s the main reason why I haven’t experienced true victory in every aspect of my life.

You probably could relate too. It’s just a matter of taking time to think about what you’re thinking about. Doing this can help you get to the bottom of your strongholds and have them broken for good. Starting today I’ll be meditating on the Word day and night so I can be successful in using my spiritual weapons. I used to tell myself that I don’t need to read the Bible because I know what the Bible says. However, I failed to realize that there is a big difference in knowing what the Word say vs meditating on the Word and applying it to your life as well as to understand what I’m reading. Don’t get me wrong I used to read the Word daily just like how I used to read Our Daily Bread daily, but I strayed away being caught up in matters that is not important to me.

As I’m writing this post, memories are coming back to me how I used to be an Intercessor praying on everyone’s behalf, taught teenager bible study, had personal bible studies with neighbors at my house, spread the gospel, prayer with my children every night along with discussion and so much more. I’m sitting here like wow I did all those things, but what happened that caused me to stray away so far? Whatever had happened all I know is that I need to get back there when I had a very close relationship with God.

Today is a new day in which I will start praying with my children and having discussions. I need to go listen to that song by Andrae Crouch called “Take Me Back”, I listed the link below. Check it out!

It is a must listen and I encourage you to listen to it. I’m going to list a few verses below;

Take me Back

Take me back dear Lord

To the place where I first received you.

Take me back

Take me back dear Lord

To the place when I first believe.

Remember we are all a work in progress! Have a good evening my Loves!
